Question Left Luggage; Paris to Amsterdam, Change in Brussel ?

    Dear Ben/Others,

I'm coming to Europe/Paris first time, and have some questions/concerns.
Thanks in advance for helping me out on this (and sorry for too many questions)

    1. According to CDG web-site, http://www.paris-cdg.com/

    "Baggage Storage/Left Luggage
Unfortunately for reasons of safety, the luggage storage services have been
suspended at Roissy-CDG, in compliance with current anti-terrorist legislation."

But according to this site, it is allowed at CDG with "Bagages du Monde".
Not sure, which one is the latest information ???

Assuming, no facility available at CDG, Storage at Gare du Nord could be an option ?

    2. I booked train tickets on Eurostar-online for Paris Nord to Amsterdam,
and have two issues with that.
a). After I paid for the tickets, I got an email confirmation, with a message
"Seats are for Eurostar legs only"

Do I have to change the train in Brussels to take a Thalys line,
or the same Eurostar train goes to Amsterdam ?

[ Sent an email to Eurostar support, and waiting for response ]

    b). I used a CreditCard for booking,
and I need to use the same Card at the automated ticket machines
for getting the real tickets before the journey.
Looking at the FAQ, got a feeling my CreditCard may not work.

I'm hoping there is a manual counter at Gare du Nord to collect my ticket ?

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ROBBED. My 30GB IPOD and Social Security card were stolen during one days storage. When I dropped off my bag I asked if we were finished and the lady at the counter said yes but left my bag in the airport hallway. I complained about the stolen items and the company only responded with "During the storage with us, we do not open bags. Probably, that happened after pick up your bag."

no hope in getting my property back.

    Hi Murali,

As far as I know, Bagages du Monde is still operating out of CDG Airport at Terminal 2A. Although, you may want to follow RCorrea's advice in not leaving valuables or important documents in your baggage.

Gare du Nord is definitely another option for baggage storage, as they have lockers which allow up to 72 hours of storage.

There's been an unfortunate accident in Belgium recently, with a crash of two commuter trains and currently services on Eurostar between Paris and Brussels is very limited. See the Eurostar site for more information on this.

Eurostar operates trains to Brussels, and trains from Brussels to Amsterdam would be operated by Thalys, so you would have to descend from the Eurostar train at Brussels and switch to a Thalys train.

No worries about your credit card and the automated Eurostar ticket machines. Eurostar ticketing office in Gare du Nord is on the first floor. The employees inside will be able to print your paper tickets for you, upon showing your credit card and identification.

    Best regards,

    Ben
