    Default RER routes

    Hi,
We are developing a offline Paris Metro route planner, that will basically help in planning trips beforehand. This will not give routes based on any live information, but only using the pre-defined routes.

In order to accomplish this, we need the route details for the Metro and RER trains. In the case of Metro lines, this looks straightforward as the trains from one end to another and vice-versa. But in the case of RER trains, there a number of origins and destinations and the trains do not run on a fixed route (some times they go till the end, they do not stop at certain stations, etc). Will it be possible to get the list of different routes taken by the RER trains (A-E)?

We tried to figure out this information from the timetables available in the site, but we have certain queries here. Do these timetables cover all the routes taken by RER (A-C)? Where can we get such information for RER D & E?

This website, the one you're on now, Paris By Train, is a completely unofficial, non-profit "labour of love" type enterprise provided to help visitors to Paris with information. It has no official connection to the transport authorities that run the Parisien RER networks and no more access to official sources of data than anyone else with a browser and an ability to use Google.

The limited schedules that appear on the home page are simply taken from the transport authorities own websites. Suggest you do a bit of searching for SNCF, RATP and Transilien who are the main players in running the RER network, and search their websites for the information you seek. Five minutes on Wikipedia will set you in the right direction.

    Thanks for your reply.

We did google to get these information. In fact, thats how we ended up in this site.

We have looked at various official and unofficial sites (including wikipedia) for these information. But none of them seems to have the full-fledged data. It was mentioned in one of the websites that the timetables were released on the websites in the past but not anymore. So we thought of verifying these from this forum, which is currently active on this subject.
